Rodney Loo
Senior Vice President
Wealth Advisor
Family Wealth Director
As a Wealth Advisor with Morgan Stanley since 1987, people have allowed me the privilege of serving and assisting them with their wealth, financial, investment and family matters. I work primarily with individuals and families of substantial means and truly enjoy getting to know each of our clients, their lifestyle, and the desires and visions of their future.
I take the time to intimately understand our client’s concerns and work diligently to find solutions and develop customized, holistic wealth plans that are best for them.
As your wealth grows, so too does its complexity and the resources needed to manage it. I have the knowledge, experience, commitment and the global resources necessary to develop a strategy for your investments on an ongoing basis, providing you with objective advice on critical financial matters. When short term jitters cause investors to abandon long term wealth plans, I am here to revisit priorities and bring discipline and rational thought back to the process.
I attended Punahou School in Honolulu Hawaii, received a BA from the University of Colorado, and earned the Family Wealth Director designation at Morgan Stanley representing the top 1 % highest level of wealth management training. I am also a member of Morgan Stanley’s President’s Club and was named in 2008 by Barron’s Magazine Top 100 Financial Advisors in California* and in 2007 Top 35 Financial Advisors in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times**.
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and my wife Kristi and I have been married for 19 years. We have lived in the Bay Area for the past 25 years and have three beautiful children; a son Adam, and two daughters, Kendra and Violet. I spend as much time as I can with my family traveling, fly-fishing, playing golf, cycling, skiing and snowboarding. I also love to cook, play guitar and help coach the Redwood High School Mountain Bike Team and my daughter’s soccer teams. My passion is truly in helping others and thus, I sit as Vice Chairman of the Board for a national non-profit called Summer Search which helps low income high school students graduate high school, finish college and break their cycle of poverty. My best memories are of family time together, whether on vacation or just at home, especially with my wife - my most valuable asset.
*Source: Barron's “Top 100 Financial Advisors,” April 21, 2008, as identified by Barron's magazine, using quantitative and qualitative criteria and selected from a pool of over 800 nominations. Advisors in the Top 100 Financial Advisors have a minimum of seven years of financial services experience and $600 million in assets under management. Qualitative factors include, but are not limited to, compliance record, interviews with senior management, and philanthropic work. Investment performance is not a criterion. The rating may not be representative of any one client's experience and is not indicative of the Financial Advisor's future performance. Neither Morgan Stanley* nor its Financial Advisors pay a fee to Barron's in exchange for the rating. Barron’s is a registered trademark of Dow Jones & Company, L.P. All rights reserved.
**Criteria was based on more than 7,000 filtered nominations from over 80 investment, insurance, banking and other related firms, which were narrowed down by quantitative and qualitative criteria as well as by examining regulatory records and talking with peers, supervisors, clients and the advisors themselves. Portfolio performance is not a criterion because most advisors do not have audited track records.
