Brendan Doyle is an Executive Financial Services Director and Financial Advisor with The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley. Raj Pathak is a Wealth Advisor and the Managing Director of The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley. With nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Raj focuses on sophisticated wealth management strategies for distinguished clients that include business owners, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs. He focuses on a select number of clients in the greater Boston area.
The son of immigrant parents, Raj’s father came to America in the bottom of a boat with only ten dollars to his name. With hard work and perseverance, he eventually became a Professor and Researcher at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Raj’s parents relied on education and a strong work ethic to create their own destinies, and Raj followed that path in his career in finance.
In 1986 Raj graduated with the Highest Distinction from Babson College with a B.S. in Finance and Investments. He began his career in the financial services industry as a Vice President at Morgan Stanley (then called Shearson Lehman Brothers). He’s been there ever since, having climbed the ranks from Senior Vice President to Managing Director and founder of The Pathak Group. Today Raj and his team manages over 850 million in assets as of September, 2015, and have grown to become a prominent advisor team for many successful families in the Boston area.
Morgan Stanley has recognized Raj’s success as a Wealth Advisor. For 25 years, he has been a member of the Chairman’s Council, an elite group of the firm’s top advisors. From 2010 to 2015, Barron’s Magazine named Raj to its list of America’s Top 1,200 Advisors: State-by-State, and Registered Representative Magazine listed Raj as one of the Top 100 Wirehouse Advisors in the U.S. in 2009. Raj gives back to his community through his support of both the Milton Foundation for Education and the Milton Animal Shelter. He also served as a member of the Finance Committee for the Town of Milton. Additionally, he supports the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, and he is on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Northern New England, an organization that teaches young people the skills of financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship.
In his free time, Raj enjoys golf, fitness, and tennis. He is a member of the Wollaston Golf Club, and lives in Milton, MA with his wife and their three children.

Brendan developed a strong work ethic at an early age. His father was an Executive Vice President at the College Board, a non-profit that creates standardized-testing (the SAT, etc). In high school, Brendan participated in a program at Bentley University called Wall Street 101, which ignited his passion for finance. He went on to earn his B.S. in Economics and Finance at Bentley, and became a Financial Services Associate at Prudential Financial. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2008.
At The Pathak Group, Brendan forms personal relationships with his clients to discover the specific goals they have set for themselves and their families. Whether their hopes are to retire early, plan for the next generation or preserve and grow their assets, Brendan offers strategies to mitigate taxes, properly utilize debt, and manage risk. Brian J. Gossman is a Vice President and Group Director with The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley. With 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, Brian is responsible for client services as well as the operation and administration of the group’s practice.
A graduate of West Chester University, Brian graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Finance in 2005. He began his career in the financial services industry as an account officer with JP Morgan Private Bank, where he refined his skills in client services, operations, and reporting. He joined The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley in 2006, and was soon promoted to Group Director, a position held by only a handful of people throughout Morgan Stanley.
With his extensive administrative and organizational skills, Brian manages the day-to-day operations of The Pathak Group. His efficiency ensures that clients receive the most up-to-date information and the highest level of client service. Brian’s patience, his accessibility, and his calm demeanor make him an invaluable resource for all the team’s clients.
In his free time, Brian enjoys home improvement projects, reading, and going to the beach. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Brian and his wife have two children and live in Plymouth, MA.
Consulting Group Analyst
Eric Carpenter is a Consulting Group Analyst with The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley. With 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, Eric’s responsibilities include portfolio analysis and review, marketing, and financial education.
In 1999 Eric graduated from Bridgewater State College with a degree in Business Administration, and begin his career in financial services industry at Legg Mason Wood Walker. He started as a sales assistant in portfolio management services where he honed his skills in stock research and analysis. Moving to Deutsche Bank in 2003, he provided portfolio analysis for corporate executives, foundations, and endowments as a Registered Marketing Associate. Eric joined The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley in 2005.
Working closely with his team to evaluate investment managers and funds, Eric facilitates trades in the team’s Portfolio Managed Accounts and Municipal Bond Portfolios. He also manages the team’s Next Generation initiative, an educational workshop that teaches their client’s children about the importance of saving, budgeting, investing, and financial planning.
In his free time Eric likes to read, golf, and play recreational basketball, soccer, and softball. He and his wife have four children and live in Berlin, MA.
Allison Gentile is a Wealth Management Associate with The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley. With nearly five years of experience in banking and the financial services industry, Allison focuses on financial planning and customer service for the team’s clients.
In 2011, Allison graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Finance and Mathematics from Fairfield University. She also attended Florence University of the Arts while studying abroad in Italy in 2010. After graduation, Allison spent four years as an analyst with BNY Mellon. There she provided accounting, performance, risk, and compliance data to large corporate clients and financial institutions. She also helped clients customize their portfolios and worked to strengthen investment manager relationships.
BNY Mellon acknowledged Allison’s accomplishments in 2012 and 2013 with the firm’s Outperformance Achievement Award and Individual Contributor Award. These awards recognize those employees who contribute to the bank’s mission by demonstrating client focus, trust, and teamwork.
As a Wealth Advisory Associate, Allison works closely with the team’s clients to provide exemplary client service and financial planning. She forms personal relationships with clients to help them identify their unique goals for themselves and their loved ones. Relying on her strong technical and analytical skills, she helps create strategic, long term financial plans based on those goals and mindful of risk management and tax mitigation.
In her free time, Allison enjoys golf, skiing, and travel. A devoted runner, she runs the Boston Athletic Association’s half marathon every year as a member of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s fundraising team. A native of the South Shore, Allison currently lives in South Boston.
Matthew LaPaglia is a Senior Client Service Associate with The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley. With over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, Matthew concentrates on research, analysis, and trading.
In 2004 Matthew received his B.A. in Geology from Colby College where he was Captain of the Varsity Lacrosse team.
Matthew came to Morgan Stanley in 2012. As Senior Client Service Associate in Private Wealth Management, he was responsible for design, development, and process automation of all client- facing materials including presentations and reports on asset allocation, portfolio performance, and specific industry research.
In 2015, Matthew joined The Pathak Group at Morgan Stanley, where he utilizes his extensive technical knowledge to create comprehensive investment solutions for the team’s clients. His colleagues rely on his research and analysis to develop data regarding asset allocation and portfolio performance. In his free time, Matthew runs, skis, and golfs. His interests include history and cars.
